Dermatology is a dynamic and evolving field, and Dr. Altaaf Parker’s passion for skin health led him to specialize as a dermatologist in Cape Town after exploring various aspects of medicine. He pursued his Dermatology training at Stellenbosch University Medical School, where he graduated summa cum laude and received the prestigious Dr. Peter-Gordon-Smith Gold Medal Award for academic excellence. Impressively, he was also the youngest Fellow ever accepted into the College of Dermatologists of South Africa.

Dr. Parker has a strong research background, having received the Dean’s Prize for Research at the University of Cape Town and publishing in respected medical journals. His current focus is on alopecia and hair loss, an area in which he specializes in both medical and surgical hair restoration, including hair transplantation.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Parker is actively involved in the South African dermatological community, presenting at national dermatology congresses and sharing his expertise with medical students, general practitioners, pediatricians, and nurses. Committed to making quality dermatological care accessible, he has also volunteered pro bono at underprivileged clinics in Worcester, where access to specialist dermatology services is limited.
